{Long} Weekends Rock My World!

Last weekend was spent in Houston celebrating my cousin Anita's wedding!

Of course, I want to share all of the details, but my cousin Sammie (pictured below at a little pre-wedding cocktail gathering) has yet to email me the pics of our festivities...

Meet Bachelor #1, Lucas...

 He went to high school with my Luke! 

According to his bio, he loves his parents and has no tattoos. And a typical Saturday night for this boy:  "Get dressed up and go to Odessa Country Club for cocktails and dinner."  Ladies...he sounds like a keeper, don't ya think!?!?!?

Although, I will admit...I'm ready for summer vacation!!!

Single Girl Survival Skill: I fixed my toilet!!!

Oh my gosh!  You are probably thinking... This is nothing to be proud of! Well, let me tell you...desperate times call for desperate measures...so take notes!!!

The problem...

Do you see the broken off handle on the left?

Well, I don't exactly know the scientific term, but basically, the rod that flushes the potty broke.

Broken parts :

I had to head to Home Depot to make a purchase (Thank goodness, I had a little left over on my Christmas gift card from Daddy...you remember the window treatments!)

The Home Depot man assured me it was "easy to install" (that's their favorite line!)

First try:  I got it in, but the toilet didn't flush correctly...  So, easy to install was right! ;)
Second try:  It worked like a champ! 

Ready to test!

 Now, it's been a couple of weeks and I'm happy to report everything is still working fine!  Of course, I had to give it a little trial period before I gave my full report!

The celebratin' continues...

Celebrated Mother's Day last weekend with a lovely Sunday lunch, with my mom, cousin Sammie and her parents.  Here are a couple of pics from our brunch at McCormick and Schmick's.  Delicious seafood, and they gave us yummy Mother's Day truffles :).  Super fun celebration!

This past weekend, Stacy was in town to wedding plan with her younger sister, Steph.
