I have been lusting over the Mad Men collection at Banana Republic just like my roomie and I lust over Don Draper from Mad Men.  (Do you watch?   Do you love it?)

 Last night I ran into BR and purchased this lovely cream frock! 

While I'm probably a "Peggy", this dress is a "Betty".

Are you a "Joan", a "Betty", a "Peggy" or a "Roger"?

It's no secret that I love celebrities...I've even met a few...

But who I think are even almost cooler than celebrities are bloggers...

People and their stories and perspectives are fascinating...the blog world allows you to get to know people you already know in a different way or to learn about people you've never met.  I love how friendship are formed over blogs or how you can get advice from someone who knows more than you (decorating, travel, your job) OR sometimes blogs are just plain fun.

• I love Laurel-Dawn's style at Abode Love too much.
• Say No to Cosmo by a former Bachelor contestant
• And speaking of The Bachelor... I Hate Green Beans and Some Guy in Austin!  Hello!!!

Last week, I traveled to Austin for work,  and I got to see one of my blog connections come to life!  (And kind of a celebrity too!!!)

A couple of drinks with Some Guy in Austin and friends at the Broken Spoke, and I am hooked! I've got to take some of my Dallas peeps to the local Austin Dance Hall!  So much fun! (You thought I was going to say I'm hooked on SGIA...well you know it's too late...I'm a faithful fan!)   As far as the local celebrity ----DP, as he signs his post,  was super welcoming and gracious.

As he promises on his blog, he is a true gentleman who enjoys his Lone Star beer and country music.  It was a true bright spot in a rather boring trip!

So, this week, I'm back behind my computer catching up with everyone virtually.  For all of my blogging friends...thanks for taking the time to share your life and a little piece of who you are with me!  You know what they say...The World is Flat...and I'm loving sharing it with all of you!!!

Currently listening to...

I went to Austin last week for a work trip, so I downloaded the audio book of Moneyball for my drive. 
Now I can't wait to see the movie!  The story is interesting...and hello, Brad Pitt!!!!

Yes, that's one of my favorite Brad Paisley lines...mostly because I have a a friend who has worn a lampshade on her head, but also because every time I see a lampshade, I'm reminded of how much fun they can be!!!

So a few days ago when I was in Target, not for the Missoni Madness, but for other necessities...

I saw this....

 

The lampshade was on sale, and I had a similar base.

There was one bottle left (like the one next to the lamp above), but it had a slight imperfection.  Target gave me 10% off :)!

So, now I have this...

Anica + Michael

Anica and Michael got married this past weekend.  It was a beautiful wedding with lots of love. It hadn't been the greatest week, so it was fun to let loose and dance it up with friends!!!

Super, Splendid and Sixty!

My mom's 60th bday was this past weekend, so my aunts, a few of my cousins and I got together for a spa day, some shopping and some yummy food.  Aunt Bonny provided some silly flair.  We had a delicious cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes.  And we got to enjoy lots of together time!
It was such a great day!

Anica and The Spazzies!

You know I'm a fan of girl's nights and The Spazmatics (the last time I saw them, as well as their greatness, is described here)...So Anica's bachelorette party last weekend did NOT disappoint!!  We had a super fun night out and luckily, I had my camera!  First the party, then some lessons learned! (There are always lessons, ladies!!!)

First, to yummy SFUZZIs for dinner and lingerie!

 Lessons Learned:  

#1:  If he can't put enough effort into himself to change OUT of his swimming trunks before a night out, move on!!!

Look how cute these girls look...

 #2:  Christian Louboutin's are perfect for many occasions...80's cover band concerts are better in flips!

 #3:  When the floor starts shaking and you're worried you're about to fall through (which has happened at this venue), find a friend and hold on tight!

But make sure you've got those drink's held tightly in the other hand...

 #4 Finally, when the camera comes out, pose like you mean it!!!
